What is the difference between buy order types? What is a cash versus quantity order?
Two order types available: cash orders (dollar limit) and quantity orders (exact units).
We offer two types of buy orders:
- Cash Orders — Set a maximum dollar amount you'd like to spend on a specific investment. We will purchase as many whole units as possible up to that limit at current prices.
- Quantity Orders — Purchase an exact number of a specific item, similar to a market order. When placing a quantity order, you will see a price that includes the product, any applicable sales tax or shipping charges for delivery orders.
